A Gourmet Chocolate Giveaway! (Closed)
It’s no secret that I have a bit of a sweet tooth, which more often than not involves chocolate. Yesterday, I got distracted by the fancy chocolate bar aisle in one of my favorite specialty markets, and while pondering the options on display, I decided I should absolutely share some of my chocolate obsession with one of you lovely readers… Because, I like you. A lot.
And this is a small, small way to say thank you, for reading, cooking with me, and allowing this little space on the internet to exist. Also, fancy chocolate makes a pretty great stocking stuffer, amiright?
SO, I picked out a collection of gourmet chocolate bars in a variety of flavors. The giveaway includes thirteen chocolate bars, in no particular order:
Pike Place Espresso dark chocolate truffle bar
Oh my S’mores! milk chocolate
Hazelnut crunch milk chocolate
Emerald City Mint milk chocolate truffle
Congo coffee & cream milk chocolate
Pure 70% dark chocolate
Milk chocolate ginger chai
Peace, love & peppermint dark chocolate
Dark chocolate cherry
Peppermint stick dark chocolate
Ginger dark chocolate
Sea salt dark chocolate
and MAPLE BACON.
Yes, maple bacon chocolate.
I’ll wrap them up and send a package off to one lucky winner, which should (hopefully) arrive in time for Christmas!
To enter, just tell me your all-time favorite type of chocolate in the comments below!
The details: Chocolate giveaway open to U.S. residents (or with a U.S. mailing address). Giveaway ends Sunday, December 21, 2014 at 11:59 PST. One winner will be chosen at random and announced on this post, as well as notified by email. If the winner does not respond within 48 hours, another winner will be selected.
This giveaway is now closed. Congratulations to Emily (who loves dark chocolate covered pretzels)! Thank you so much to EVERYONE who entered. I absolutely loved hearing all about your favorite chocolates, and can’t wait to try a few new brands! The winner will be contacted shortly via email.

Trader Joes has this AWESOME dark chocolate bar with black sea salt I think and caramel. SO GOOD
My all time favorite chocolate is dark.
Dark chocolate is always my preferance.
Favorite chocolate is a cake called “Messy Cake” by my mother. Just thinking about it reminds me of the wonderful flavor.
There was milk chocolate, broken or cut very thick, and wrapped in gold cellophane on the first floor of a department store in St Louis. Stix or Famous, I believe. I can see it, smell it and taste it 70 years later. I’d give anything (well, maybe not anything) to have it again. I think of it often.
The best chocolate here in Springfield, MO is Askinosie Chocolate. It is made by a former criminal defense attorney who changed careers to become a chocolate maker. He buys fare trade beans from all over the world to make chocolate in the Ozarks. I love their peppermint bark and the factory smells delicious!
Perugina Dark Chocolate Baci!
Just about any kind of chocolate with mint!

ANY KIND!
The darker the better. You can’t go wrong.
My daughter just asked what my favorite chocolate is. I will turn 101 years-of-age in January, and I eat chocolate everyday of my life. My favorite? Dark chocolate with caramel and roasted Pecans. I sometimes make my own “Turtles”. People tease me about the amount of chocolate I eat, but I’m healthy, happy and very old, so it must doing some good.

Michael Mischer chocolates based out of Oakland, Ca. He uses lots of nuts & dried fruits. I haven’t been to his shop in a long time but it was next to a Weight Watchers!!!! 🙂

One of our local chocolate shops has a mayan drinking chocolate that is absolutely addictive, but I’m also partial to dark chocolate covered almonds or anything with sea salt.
Wow! The Best Chocolates! I love good-quality dark chocolate with roasted Hazelnuts. I also love homemade orange or grapefruit rinds coated with dark chocolate, and dark chocolate with roasted or smoked chiles. A few years ago I attended a fancy luncheon hosted by Japanese exchange students. The highlight of that meal(in my opinion) was White Chocolate Truffles coated with Matcha Green Tea powder! Heavenly!
Very simple answer for me….ANYTHING dark chocolate. (I think that’s why I was overjoyed when they started making Mounds with dark chocolate)!
