Description

A healthy berry banana smoothie packed with frozen berries, banana, and creamy yogurt, that can be easily customized to your favorite ingredients. Start with this base recipe then make it dairy free, a green smoothie, or add chia seeds, flax oil, or collagen for a nutritional boost!

Ingredients

Scale

8 oz plain or vanilla Greek yogurt¹
1 frozen banana,² broken into chunks
1 cup berries (blueberries, blackberries, strawberries)
1 cup milk of choice³
Optional add-ins: 2-3 tsp honey or maple syrup or 1 pitted Medjool date, 1 Tbsp collagen powder, 1 Tbsp chia seeds, 1 Tbsp flax seeds, 1 Tbsp almond or peanut butter, handful of spinach or kale leaves.

Instructions

Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth and creamy, about a minute or two.

Pour into glasses. Best enjoyed immediately.

Notes

¹ Go dairy free with coconut/almond/or cashew milk yogurt, such as those from So Delicious or Forager.

² I usually freeze chunks of banana to have on hand for smoothies. Frozen banana creates a thicker and colder smoothie, in lieu of using ice cubes, which can dilute the flavor. If you don’t like banana, frozen mango and cauliflower will also add creaminess.

³ I usually opt for unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, or flax milk, but any dairy or non-dairy milk will work!
