Description

An easy, delicious recipe for Cinnamon Raisin French Toast, perfect for Sunday brunch.

Ingredients

  • 8 slices cinnamon raisin brioche (or any cinnamon raisin bread you can find), sliced about 3/4-inch thick
  • 2 Tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 250℉. Place an oven-safe baking rack on a large sheet pan. Set aside.
  2. Beat the eggs together with the almond milk, cream, and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl until completely combined. Pour into a shallow baking dish and set aside.
  3. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Melt 1 Tbsp of butter.
  4. Meanwhile, soak each piece of bread in the egg mixture for 5-10 seconds. When the butter begins to shimmer, add the bread to the skillet, leaving space between each piece. Cook for 2-3 minutes, each side, until the toast is golden brown.
  5. Repeat, cooking the bread in batches. Add the remaining butter, when the pan starts to get dry.
  6. Place the cooked pieces of toast on the baking sheet in the oven to stay warm while cooking the remaining pieces.
  7. Serve warm with butter, maple syrup, sliced almonds and fresh berries. Enjoy!!
